Dr. Berg talks about 6 tricks to speed up keto adaptation. There’s a transition period called keto-adaptation whereby the new cellular machinery is being built.
1. You need to always to keto with intermittent fasting because they both compliment each other and one without the other prolongs the transition phase – due to higher insulin.
2. Apple cider vinegar, with lemon in water will help lower insulin spikes.
3. Electrolytes and nutritional yeast also helps insulin resistance.
4. If you have extreme hunger pains, this can spike stress and the adrenals and release sugar to handle the the low blood sugar – so snack on a little fat, not protein – avocado or pecans will help to get you through this. Fat is the food that triggers insulin the least.
5. Adding more fat meal will help you go longer
6. Adding more green vegetables spike potassium and lower insulin resistance.

  1. 2 tiny sized boiled potatoes everyday on keto diet, i just couldn't afford to drop almost half of my hairs again
    but guess i'll never be able to get in to real ketosis

  2. Dr I was in hospital for 3 weeks with COVID-19 that turned pneumonia I was also diagnosed with pre-diabetic I’ve been home for three weeks and I started the keto diet but I don’t seem to be dropping anyway I feel much better though eating this way do you have any advice thank you🙏

  3. I’m doing 21 hour fast. When I break my fast, I have sand which, or maybe pasta and chicken. As well as a cup of coffee of hot water, light milk and two teaspoons of sugar. I find that if I went full keto and give up carbs completely I would loose my mind. How people do it?

  4. I fast for 48 hrs and I’m in ketosis by then. I also workout during the fasting (light) to burn my Glycogen stores

  9. I ma in keto from about 5 weeks and using multivitamin and potassium magnesium supplements every day and lemon salt water also. Iam feeding mom . But after all precautions l have legs pain and cramps during sleeping. And this pain and cramps from last 10 days. Please Dr. Berg guide me what can I do to get rid of this problem
